SUCCESSFUL INTERSTATE RAID FOR SLIPPIN’ JIMMY

SLIPPIN’ JIMMY franked his credentials with a powerful performance on Grafton Cup Day to score his fourth win from eight starts.

The son of Pariah has now only finished outside the placings on two occasions after he scored a determined win in the Benchmark 66 Handicap (1000m).

SLIPPIN’ JIMMY was ridden in his first foray outside Queensland by two-kilo claimer Jace McMurray, who had him nicely positioned.

The pair struck the front 400 metres from home and fended off the persistent challenge of several riders in the home straight to take SLIPPIN’ JIMMY’s prizemoney earnings past $80,000.

“He really enjoyed competing today and was very strong through the line,” said David.

“The win was terrific for his confidence, and we’ll now look to take him to a race at Coffs Harbour in two weeks’ time, which would qualify him for the Magic Millions Country Cup.

“His post-race recovery was pretty good, he does get himself a bit worked up but it’s probably more excitement than anything. He’s taken a bit of time to mature, so I appreciate the owners’ patience. He’s starting to build an impressive record and he’s not done with yet.”

Many congratulations to his ownership group: Mr M W Cook, Mr K L Hill, Albury's Own, Mrs J Dahl, Ms S M Reguson, DVD Racing, Mr S N Travers, Mr M Speers, Mr S Dodds, Mr T J Brown, Mr G Doherty, Mr K C Bell and High Calibre Racing.
