SPICY SONIC’s first outing for the stable was a winning one when he broke his maiden on his home track.
The 4YO made the perfect start to his career with Vandyke Racing when he led all the way in the Maiden Handicap (1200m).
Having jumped smartly from barrier two, Ryan Maloney controlled the pace of the race and soon had his rivals off the bit rounding the turn.
Despite being challenged near the line, SPICY SONIC comfortably held on for a one-length win to justify favouritism and collect a cheque for $14,500.
