TRUMP CARD sealed a midweek metropolitan stable double when he followed FERINO into the winner’s enclosure at Eagle Farm.
The son of Ace High had been luckless at his previous start, but more than made amends with his first career win in Wednesday’s Maiden Plate over the mile.
The 4YO was purchased shortly after we secured FERINO, so it was appropriate that the pair both broke through on the same day.
TRUMP CARD would almost certainly have won with a clear run at Doomben at the end of February, but Noel Callow took luck out of the equation on this occasion.
TRUMP CARD was given plenty of galloping room on the outside section of the track and promptly pulled off some slick sectionals to justify his $1.60 starting price.
