READY TO PARDON BREAKS THROUGH

READY TO PARDON scored a tough win by the narrowest of margins to shed his maiden status at Ipswich on Thursday.

In a head-bobbing finish, the judge was needed to determine that READY TO PARDON had just outlasted his persistent rival to break through at career start number three.

After missing out by a similar margin at his previous start, the 3YO was due a change of luck and whilst he did it the hard way, it was a case of all’s well that ends well.

“It was wonderful to see him get over the line,” said David.

“He’s a lovely relaxed horse, and his recovery was amazing. It was a hot day and he had a long trip from the Sunny Coast, but nothing seemed to faze him.

“He probably has more to offer and might be looking for further. We’ll let the dust settle and give him a few weeks until his next start, but it was great to see him get that first win.”

The victory took the stable’s recent record to three wins and two minor placings from our last six starters.

A handy QTIS bonus also bumped the winner’s cheque up to $27,300, congratulations to Sky Racing’s Paul Joice and his fellow owners: Mr J R Brownson, Mr R E Brownson, Mr N C Brownson, Mr W A Veall, Mr S A Flanagan, Miss P L Corfield, Mr G Garzaniti, Mr D N Parkinson and Mr P Urso.
