LUTON HOO built on a highly encouraging stable debut to score her first win since arriving in Queensland on Saturday.
The filly relished the step up in trip to 1540m at the Gold Coast to claim her second win from just three career starts.
The Benchmark 58 Handicap turned into a two-horse duel down the straight, with LUTON HOO getting the upper hand under the persistent urgings of Micheal Hellyer.
The pair had finished third when the daughter of Time Test made her first start for Vandyke Racing over 1050m at the same venue one month earlier. LUTON HOO took plenty of improvement from that first-up run, and promptly saluted on Men Matter Raceday to take her early career earnings past $30,000.
Many congratulations to her owner, Annabelle Borges.
