LOST HIS BEANS HITS THE MARK

LOST HIS BEANS returned from a lengthy absence in style to score an impressive first-up win at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.

The 4YO was only making his third career start after battling some niggling injuries, but he showed his undoubted talent with a powerful performance in the Benchmark 60 Handicap (1000m).

Despite being trapped wide, James Orman refused to panic and rode the son of Spill The Beans like the best horse in the race.

The pair sailed home down the outside to score a comfortable win which took LOST HIS BEANS’ career earnings past the $50,000 mark.

“We were caught three deep, which wasn’t ideal,” said Orman.

“But there wasn’t much I could have done and he settled into a nice rhythm anyway. I managed to keep him balanced and in the end he was too good for them.

“He was feeling the pinch late, which you would expect, so I think he will take a lot of benefit from it. If he’d had a more economical run, he would have won more comfortably but he’s a nice horse.”

Congratulations to Mr A J W McIntyre, Thuzz Park Racing, Mr R W Mutton, Mr R W A Johnson, Mr M L Brookes, Mr J H Slorach, Mr W D Reeks, Mr B P Newton, Mr M J Morgan, Mr G W Johnson and Mr L K Brookes.
