LAST-GASP WIN FOR WHAT’S UP HONEY

WHAT’S UP HONEY broke her maiden in thrilling fashion with a last-gasp win at Ipswich on Friday.

The homebred filly looked like running a game second when the leader skipped clear in the closing stages of the Maiden Handicap. But she really knuckled down to her task late and was duly rewarded for her perseverance when the photo finish judge delivered his verdict in her favour.

After starting her out over shorter trips, David elected to step WHAT’S UP HONEY up in trip at career start number four and the decision proved a very shrewd one as she needed every inch of the 1350m to get her nose in front.

The win was also testament to the riding abilities of Kyle Wilson-Taylor, who extracted every ounce out of the daughter of Better Than Ready.

Many congratulations to her owner, Andrew Knox.
