DREAM DEBUT FOR FOURANDAHALF

FOURANDAHALF powered home on debut at the Sunshine Coast to seal a home track double and a weekend treble.

Following MOSZUR’s win at Doomben on Saturday and victory for ELLIBABY earlier on the card, FOURANDAHALF enhanced the stable’s impressive tally of results with a driving finish in the 3YO Maiden Handicap (1200m).

The son of Charge Forward faced a stiff task in the home straight to pick up his rivals, particularly with 60kg on his back.

But FOURANDAHALF sliced through the chasing pack and stuck his neck in front near the line to make the best possible start to his racing career.

“We knew he had a long stride but he just looked beautiful out there,” said David.

“Even though he was sitting second last, he had a lovely action and it looked like Ryan had a lapful of horse. He finished like a horse with 20 starts not one making his debut, so full credit to him and to Ryan for keeping him balanced.

“He trotted up well the morning after his race, so we’ll see how he recovers this week before making any plans with him. There does look a nice race for him on ANZAC Day, but we’ll let him tell us whether or not he’s ready.”

Congratulations to his owners: Four Small Fish, Mrs M Trivett, Mr C P Walsh, H P Racing, Mr G J Condon, Mr DVD Racing, Mr W B Thomas, Woulda Coulda Shoulda and Mr P A Willetts.
