DARK CHILL IMPRESSES IN MAIDEn WIN

DARK CHILL unleashed a strong sprint to break his maiden at just his third career start at Doomben on Wednesday.

After two encouraging runs over shorter trips to kick off his career, the son of Dawn Approach relished the step-up to 1660m and proved too strong over the concluding stages under Jim Byrne to win by just over half a length eased down.

Trainer David Vandyke said DARK CHILL gave every indication he would be even better suited over further ground.

“He has always showed us promise and I think now that we’re stepping out in trip, he’s really going to start materialising as a better horse,” said David.

“The breed can get over ground and the way he relaxes and looks, I’m looking forward to getting him up over 2000m next start.”

Congratulations to his ownership group:
