BOHEMIAN LAD SAMPLES CITY SUCCESS

BOHEMIAN LAD flew past $100,000 from just five starts after scoring his third win at Doomben on Wednesday.

The talented gelding is yet to finish outside the top two in his career and embellished his very handy profile with a first metropolitan victory in the QTIS 3YO Handicap.

Ryan Maloney continued his unbeaten record on BOHEMIAN LAD after giving the son of Better Than Ready another polished ride.

Having extracted him from the fence, Maloney asked BOHEMIAN LAD to chase the leaders down and the 3YO didn’t shirk the challenge to score by half a length and collect a cheque for $31,500.

“Ryan gave him a 10 out of 10 ride,” said David.

“He had him in the perfect position, and when he presented him at the top of the straight, I was pretty confident. The only other time he’s raced over 1200 metres, he finished second to a Stakes winner in Infancy.

“He’s had his issues and has had some time off, but his owners have been very patient so I’d like to thank them. He’s really come on physically and mentally, and he’s just loving life at the minute.”

Many congratulations to Paul Joice of Sky Racing and his fellow owners: Mr G I Turnbull, Mr C A Amerio, Mr W Ebert, Mr A Miethke, Mrs A Miethke, Mr M J Sly, Mr D R Ind, Mr M Fewkes, Mr C W Amerio, Mr J Amerio, Mr D M Kane and Mr S P Mayer.
