BETTERLETMEDANCE IS DOWN FOR THE FIGHT

BETTERLETMEDANCE bounced back to her best form at Ipswich on Wednesday as the filly profited from a firmer track and the application of blinkers to score her second career win.

The daughter of Better Than Ready has been a model of consistency in her 10-start career, and got her just rewards with a tough victory under an inspired Jimmy Orman ride.

After jumping from the widest gate, the 3YO mustered plenty of early speed to sit just behind the leading pack.

The race turned into a two-horse duel in the home straight, and it was BETTERLETMEDANCE who just got the better of her persistent rival to move to $142,500 in career earnings.

“She’s been running in better races than this and hasn’t been beaten that far, so even though she was a fairly big price today I thought she’d run well,” said Orman.

“Blinkers on certainly helped and the wide gate didn’t bother her too much, because we were able to get over and take up a good position. She was strong and managed to get the upper hand, so it was a tough win and it’s great to see her bounce back.”

Many congratulations to the team at Viva Racing and all her owners: High Calibre Racing, Mr B Heffernan, Mr B Cardillo, Mr S Burow, Mr J Palmer, Mr R Austin, Mr J J Cook, Mr J Arthur, Goldie Dreamers, B B Tavern Syndicate, Mr D M Keough, Mr D Clark, Mrs L M Lees, Mr F D Kutra, Distinguished Red, Mr D D Singh, BAK Triple H Racing, Mr M Nutt and Mr E K Duryea.
