BANANA SLIDE made an explosive return to the races when she sealed a stable double at the Sunshine Coast on Sunday.
After a 10-month absence from the racetrack, the mare showed she had lost none of her acceleration with an eye-catching second career victory in the Class 1 Plate (1400m).
With stablemate PEACEFUL PRINCE chasing her home, BANANA SLIDE's win completed a successful day at the office following ZINOTAR’s maiden victory in the opening race.
BANANA SLIDE had been well backed throughout the day and she justified that strong support with a one-length win which carried her career earnings close to $50,000.
Ridden a treat by Kyle Wilson-Taylor, the daughter of Sebring made light of the extended lay-off to elevate her race record to two wins and a pair of minor placings from six starts.
“We’ve always had a high opinion of this mare,” said Wilson-Taylor.
“It was good to see her come back and put the field away like she did. We know she’s got ability and it was very pleasing that she was able to show that today, so I was very proud of her.”
Congratulations to the members of the Nolan family.
