ABAN got the better of a two-horse battle down the Ipswich straight to register his first win at only his second start.
After just getting run down at the Sunshine Coast on debut, ABAN stepped up to 1350m and fought his way to victory in the QTIS 3YO Maiden Plate.
Following his debut runner-up finish on his home track, the son of Savabeel jumped the odds-on favourite at start number two.
And whilst his backers may have had a few nervy moments in the home straight as ABAN and Dominance eyeballed one another, under the urgings of Ryan Maloney our boy just got the upper hand to collect a cheque for $20,700.
Many congratulations to Ken Ely, who owns ABAN outright.
