Boblee handles heavy conditions to score second win.

Unseasonal conditions awaited competitors at the Sunshine Coast meeting today, with the track rated a Heavy 8 after heavy downpours the previous two days.

With consistent results this campaign, including a win on Boxing Day, Boblee started a warm favorite in the Class 1 (1000m).

Starting from gate five in the field of seven, Boblee, ridden by Brad Stewart, was content early to let those drawn inside of him take up the forward positions, settling four and two lengths of the leading pair.

Racing two to three horses off of the fence, there was nothing but clear space in front of Boblee as the field straightened for the run home.

Balanced at the top of the straight, Stewart clicked Boblee into gear at the 300m.

Hitting the front as they raced toward the 200m, Steward concentrated on the remaining furlong, in keeping Boblee balanced on the heavy track and maintaining the advantage he had over those chasing.

It was Boblee's second win from only four starts for Vandyke Racing with the 3yo son of Shooting To Win formerly with Warwick Farm's Joe Pride.
